One special opportunity to interact is at our Interactive Touchpool, where you can gently touch a variety of fascinating sea creatures under the guidance of our educators.
Modeled after a West Coast tide pool, this hands-on exhibit lets you experience what it feels like to touch a sea star, anemone, and more. Sea anemones may look like plants, but they’re living animals with a soft, jelly-like texture—while sea stars often cling to surfaces with their tiny suction-cup feet.
You’ll have the chance to see and touch more than 8 species in this exhibit, and our knowledgeable staff are always nearby to answer your questions and share fun facts.
